Coolant Flush

Does anyone have proper coolant flush procedure for a DIY home garage guy, including any special tips to do it right? Or is this a mess that would be easier done by someone that has done it before??

Prestone makes a kit to backflush the cooling system. Most auto part stores sell it for under $5. I did that, along with the Prestone heavy duty coolant system cleaner on our 99 Safari, and it cleared all sorts of crap out of the system. It was easy to do, you just cut a heater hose, and install a t-valve that hooks up to your garden hose.
