Reading up on shocks, the only ones I can afford are Monroe it seems. I see thewy have 2 upper line shocks the Reflex and the Sensitrac. Whats better ? I aslo saw that you can but them in matched sets that are adjusted and tuned for frt or rear. Ever heard of that ?

thanks

I just put the Sensatracs on my Tahoe. They are slightly firmer than the OEM shocks but not too stiff. I talked to 3 different auto parts stores and every one of them told me that the reflex was too stiff and that they get a lot of returns due to that fact.

I put the Reflex in our 99 Suburban a couple of years ago (the wife's daily driver), and she has had no complaints that the ride isn't soft enough. When I've driven it I haven't noticed a harsh ride either. FWIW.

I put a set of reflex on my wife's 02 yukon xl two wheel drive. They didn't seem that much stiffer thatn the stock ones to me, but the yukon xl does weigh around 5600lbs. With the reflex shocks on the yukon xl It did level out the vehicle. Another words it lowered the back end. Another reason it doesn't seem stiff to me is that I drive a 02 2500HD 4x4 and it rides like a horse and buggy.
