Adding XM and AUX GM.... Where is the RAP WIRE?

Hey,

New here, great site. I have an 07 Silverado, and was wondering if anyone knows if there is a RAP wire under the dash? Or is it just in the Data Bus? I want to add a AUX GM and it has a yellow and black I am assuming to power the unit. I dont have any rear seat entertainment and it is non-bose, non-onstar. Is my install worth it, or should I just install an aftermarket? Any help is appreciated.

Sorry, it's not a wire. RAP is controlled by the body control module. When a door is opened or RAP has reached its time limit, a message to shut down is sent out over the data buss to items that have a RAP function (radio, windows, etc.). Those items are then turned off by the module and not by cutting power to them.

You can go to www.peripheral.com and get a GMRAP i think, it has pretty easy instructions to give you this feature with this device. I have a car audio store and use this all the time. Let me know if you would like one from us, or you can find it at the web sight.
