I'm looking to get a cat back exhaust for my truck, but I don't especially like the sound that a Flowmaster puts out on the 5.3L. If anybody knows of an exhaust that will give me more of a throaty sound then let me know.

There are a ton of options out there. A search on this forum will turn up many 'exhaust' threads.

Corsa, Borla, Flowmaster, Magnaflow, Gibson are a few of the more popular.

I have a cat-back single exist Gibson on my truck. After 3 years, no issues and I like the sound.
