Gas mileage going down?

On my 01 pickup, the gas mileage has gone down 1 mpg since I took off the K&N system and replaced with stock system and then I replaced it with a Airaid Intake I have and its still getting worse gas mileage. I have reset the computer every time I have done any modification to the truck. I also have the Wait4me tune on it. But right now I am consistently getting around 17 mpg, I used to get 18 all the time. Just wondering what could be going on with my truck. Have they switched to winter blend fuel already?

Oh yeah, my truck has about 86,000 miles on it. I dont know when they start winter blend here in MO.

Could be a bunch of things. Winter blend could be showing up at the pumps already (ask your gas station, they might know), or you could have other issues. Check your plugs and wires, check your coil/coils (not sure if you have more than one), and depending on your mileage you could try replacing O2 sensors.

Check your fuel filter and clean your injectors.

I've got a lead foot but I noticed about 3 weeks ago I went from 300mi's a tank to around 199-220 Mi's a tank,....

 

I hear this winter blend fuel?! I live around Cincinnati, OH and I have no clue what the hell that is,..never heard of it.

 

I'm goen to check all my plugs and wires. I haven't experienced loss in power just a gain in frequency at the pump,....Good thing the prices went down,...

"Winter blend" fuel is made to less strenuous standards than summer blend, thus it doesn't meet the same fuel mileage standards that summer blend does.

Winter Blend fuel is manufactured to allow engines to warm up faster in colder climates. Summer blend fuel is manufactured to allow engines to resist detonation in warmer climates.
