Is synthetics (oil) caustic to humans?

I don't know if i'm just getting more sensitive and decrepit with age...

Every time if some 100% syn fluid (motor oil, trans fluid, etc) or crusty remanents thereof, gets on my skin, I have welts where ever they have touched...even the smallest specs.

I haven't had any with any of my older vehicles of past where the engine oil was about the only synthetic. But is these "newer" synthetics actually cousins of the flesh eating virus? :seeya:

With dino's i don't seem to have any problems and that's wiith all the dino's brake, trans, engine, gear. with the one's mark 100% syn, engine is almost immediate, trans and brake is after 20 minutes....i have done a measured swipe test on myself.

I was just curious if anyone else is experiencing this. I haven't been allergic to anything else before in my life. Before i broke down years ago and finally bought Mechanics gloves, I would even "pack" any cuts from wrenching with engine block crude and wrap it with electrical tape and keep on working, you have to keep the blood off the polished intake somehow. :seeya:

for those that may ask..100% syn engine oils i've tried and got same results are Mobil-1, Pennzoil Platinum, Royal Purple

Any time something like that happens, always go to the doctor, or ask your mom :seeya: .

I've heard that every 7-12 years your body undergoes a change, and one of the things that can change is what you're allergic to. I used to be allergic to wood smoke, but eventually grew out of it.
