I need to change the blower motor in my '96 crew cab dually. Has anyone here ever done that before? How much stuff will I need to remove to get to it?

I've not changed one but i had to remove one from an 88 cheyenne 3500. It wasnt very difficult at all because it was right there under the dash..hell you could even see some of it just sitting in the seat. I really dont know if a 96 would be the same or not so im not sure how much help this is. Is it tucked further up in the dash? You may have to remove the glove box but i'd be surprised if any more than that is necessary.

I just changed it. It was a piece of cake.

had to remove the glove box.....no tools required

had to remove a rubber cover that insulated the motor.......no tools required

Then everything was right there in front of me. It was only 5 or 6 screws with a 7mm nutdriver.

The whole job took me about 15 minutes.

My body shop buddy told me that I'd have to remove the dash to get to it. I guess I'll have to tell him that he's full of crap.
