Power Seats

Both Front seats have lost power and heat wont come on. Worked fine one day and the next....nuthin. I have checked for bad fuses and dont see any bad. Has anyone run into this b4? Any help is appreciated.

I'm just guessing, so keep that in mind: the fuses are probably under the hood for your seats. I'm guessing they are fairly high amp fuses. Did you use a test light or multimeter to test them? Or did you just do a visual inspection? I've seen fuses test bad, and still look good. Perhaps you actually have a bad fuse or relay.

Thanks for the reply skills. I just did a visual check. I will test them if this other option I got from Sxmax doesnt work out. See below

What I ended up doing was unplugging the memory seat module from under the drivers seat for like 5 minutes and then pluging it back in. So far that has worked twice. They called it something like logic lockup. Kinda like rebooting your computer. The absence of power resets the module. Hope that helps.

As soon as I figure out which module is the Memory Seat Module I'll be in good shape lol. There are umpteen things under the drivers seat.

MBEC1 is a 50 amp fuse in the underhood fuse block that supplies power to the power seat ciruit breaker. The fuse also supplies power to the circuit breaker for the R/door. So if everything in the right door works okay, the fuse is okay.

This type of fuse is difficult to test since there are no little contact points on the outside like there is with standard type fuse. But, there is a clear window on top through which you can see if the circuit is burned through.

Logic lock is a possibility, though not common. Still worth a try. The memory module is on the underside of the seat cushion and somewhat difficult to get at, particularly when you can't move the seat around for best access.

Ok located said Module sucked up under the seat, as you said about the size of a small book. Is very hard to get a good look at it but from what I can tell there are plug/plugs (might be 2 pc) on the end facing driver door with smaller gauge wires. There is also a long plug about center facing straight down with larger gauge wires (Maybe 10 or 11) again hard to get a good line of sight on it from front or back. And on the end facing center of truck there are other small gauge wires running inot unit. There might be more but cant see them if there are.

Ok which plug/plugs have the power running into unit. I dont know if I can unplug any of them to tell the truth, but will try if I know fer sure which one is the right one.

Im wonderin if would just be easier to unhook the Battery to reset the Module or will this cause other problems?

Ok pulled the MBEC1 for over 30 seconds and still nuttin. Maybe Ill try it longer next time.
