Air Dam Foglight Question

It has been discussed here before and there is no question...the foglights in the air dam on the HDs suck.  I would like to remove them and replace them with decent driving lights.  I've scoured the internet and found that the PIAA 1552 looks like it would be a good replacement.  Has anyone tried any other brands?  It's been said that the that the foglight mounting area is not too sturdy and that there's a lot of movement of the driving light beam.  Has anyone solved this problem?

I'm looking for the same answers regarding the fog-light mounting system.  I too would like to know if anyone solved the shaking problem, because I know that just replacing the fog-lights will not solve the shaking.  It was posted in another topic, but I don't think anyone ever replied.

Hopefully someone will answer this time.

The PIAA's in that topic that were suggested were 980's, Bulb #880.

I don't plan on replacing my fog-lights until I can fix the shaking problem.

Firecat, thanks for the info.  I really don't care what kind I get, I just want to be able to stop the lights from shaking when you run over an ant.

I guess if there's enough of us out there trying to solve the light shaking problem, we might get it!

If you've got a moment, you've got to check out Rick's picture site.  I love Danny Elfman music and the site is great!

PIAA 980's dual lights are the direct bolt in our airdam replacement.

The problem REALLY isn't our factory driving lights.  While they aren't the greatest in the world they actually work nice.  The problem is the way they mount.  They aren't securly or tightly mounted.  GM simply uses their stupid press fit fasteners to hold the PLASTIC light mount bracket to the bumper.

If you create a steel mount, then actually BOLT them in place of those factory press fit connectors, they actually work nice.

Regardless, I will be replacing mine with the PIAA 980's
