07 Silverado Classic Tail light problem

Recommended Posts

So, yesterday I was talking to another '07 classic owner and he told me to watch out because the tail lights might fall out. It seems the robot or torque wrench used to tighten the tail lights was improperly adjusted and it broke the tabs that held his lights on. One fell out, then a few days later the other one fell out.

Well, lucky me, tonight I walked out to my truck and noticed my right side tail light was hanging out about an inch from the top. I stuck some heavy-duty double sided tape to hold it in. I'm taking it in next week to get the light replaced and I'm going to have them inspect the tabs on the other one too. No use taking it in twice.

Anyway, I'd do it tomorrow but I'm busy. No, I'm not camping out to buy a Playstation 3. My wife and I are having our first baby. She's being induced tomorrow!

Peace.

Your Pal,

Matt

Congrats and good luck....PS3 is out of my price range...way too much for the average gamer.

Interesting info on the tails on those trucks.

Do you know if the GMT900 Silverado uses a #8 - 3/4 inch screw to mount the tails like the GMT800 trucks did?

Best wishes on the delivery of your baby. I will be impressed if you can make it to the dealer next week with a new child in the house.

Maybe a dab of loctite will help to solve the issue of the screws coming loose? This is what I used on my '06 when I notice the screws were backing out.

If what he said about the tabs breaking, there is not much you can do aside from replacing the lamp :chevy:
