wet carpet in cab

I have a water leak in the cab of my 03 silverado. Just the carpet on the edge of the drivers door is wet. There is a previous post about repairing a plastic moisture barrier in the door? has anyone heard about this and how would you go about doing it?

Remove the door panel. There is a sheet of heavy plastic that covers all the openings in the door and it should be sealed all the way around. It has a sticky, black sealer that you can just press back into place if it's loose anywhere. Couldn't say if this is your problem.

for those that are interested I spent a few hours leak testing to find where the water was coming from, turns out it was the xtra cab door. At the top of the door at the front corner is a rubber strip with a plastic backing, water was getting through this strip and then dripping down the door pillar and onto the carpet just in front of the back seat. It was hard to find because the drips were travelling behind the plastic door panel. Once I removed the back door panel it was pretty easy to see the leak. It wasn't very easy to stop it though, I ended up using a fair bit of silicone, I'm going to try replacing the strip and see if that works a bit better.
