hey just wondering what the result of this race would be in your guys opinion. its a truck with about 90k on it and has the crap beaten out of it (no mods) my truck 04 with 47k on it has been driven nicely and has dual exhaust no muffs, and drop in k and n filter. what do you guys think i know the d-max has a crap load of torque but he does weigh alot more then my im pretty sure he also has a really rough a/t tire and i will have michelin LTXs on it if that makes much of a diff. i woulsd asume the longer the race is the better chance i have?

mine is also an extended cab. if his truck is chipped would i just have to wave goodbye or what

Most definetly...remember desiels are made for high mileage...and a tuned duramax is something really to respect

If his truck is tuned then you may as well just acknowledge him as the victor. :driving: Realistically speaking, an instant additional 40 - 160 HP depending on what he could have. He could go from high 15's to high 13's with a flip of the "switch"... :D

if his tranny isnt built for that switch flip, he might not make it down the 1/4 stretch

High 13's with a programer? I highly doubt that. I can see 14's with a new 360hp/650ft lbs duramax 3/4 ton and a programer. But still, very easy to make serious power. Gotta remember they weigh 6000+ lbs. Probobly 7000+, Im not sure tho.

d**n! That Duramax is NICE! I figured since they dont rev very high and weigh so much they'd be slower than that. Well I guess they could tune it to rev.

This Video sucks, but heres a Duramax with 135hp a Edge box.

Only ran a 15.3

Theres also a Duramax on Nitrous beating a Z06, it ran a 12.4. Pretty sick.

Holy S*&t!! You could hear that Dmax grabing gears about every half-second. It did't just beat the Z06, it murdered it. By the way I have owned a 99 5.3L (rated at only 270 HP, but the strongest in my opinion and before torque management), an 03 LB7, and this truck in sig (06 LBZ). The 5.3L would get the LB7, not by much. A 99-02 5.3L will be real close to the LBZ, but after 03, too much TM, the LBZ will beat it all day. I am bone stock and can run low 15's all day long. BTW, I don't think there is a tuner for an LBZ yet, is there?

Yes there is a tune for the LBZ. A couple of them i think. EFI live maybe? ANd also there have been a few stock LBZ's that have run mid 14's in the 1/4. Well, exhaust and slicks but no program/tune.
