Now why cant I be in the mall when they do that? I love seeing testing of engines and the new technology. I really like that Honda commercial where they show the headers on one of their racing engines just start glowing red. Awesome

I was at a weekly ride in at the mall last year when I heard a beautiful rumble coming my way. Turned around to see a gorgeous 71 1/2 Camaro cruising to it's spot. When it stopped of course it was surrounded my everyone there. Off came the hood to reveal a 572, first I ever saw. I was kind enough to clean up my own drool.

the first one i saw was in a '70 Chevelle, and it was pulling in to a cruise at a local McDonald's. As the guy stops to put it in to reverse to get to his spot people start waving at him and yelling to shut it down, but he couldn't hear them. He backs in and shuts it down, and as he gets out sees a HUGE puddle of oil under his car and out in to the middle of the lot. He'd ruptured an oil line right as he pulled in to the lot. Poor guy had this beautiful new engine in a spotless engine bay, and it was covered in oil. He spent the entire night trying to line up a ride home and a tow. Could have been worse--he could have been stuck at one more stop light on the way there and he wouldn't have realized he'd blown the line until the thing seized on him.

the first time I saw one of those monsters was in a pristine 66 Impala ss. If the guy wouldve had the factory wheels on it instead of drag slicks and skinny front wheels, it wouldve looked stock!

But anyway someone yelled Light em up! so he flipped on his line lock, 0pened the exhaust cutouts. It had SO much power that you could see where the slicks ballooned to a bigger size like NHRA from the tread marks on the street. It was still pushing the car forward with the lock on and making the front tires Squeal!!! :D:cool:

I actually saw that display at the SF auto show. It was really coll they brought this whole setup out. You could hear this thing running from all the way across the convention center.
