Difference in '98 and '99 246 Transfer Case?

I changed the T-case fluid last night in my '98 Suburban. It has the New Process 246 transfer case (RPO NP8), and according to the stamp on the case, I believe it was manufactured in Feb of '97 (code was "97 2"). Since it had Dexron and the '98 book said to fill with Dexron III, that's what I used.

 

Did the 246 T-case change for '99? I read that GM recommended (AUTO-TRAK II)

Transfer Case fluid, P/N 12378508, for the 1999-2001 models.
