Small speaker like units in windshield

Recommended Posts

I have read through the owners manual to find my answer and had no luck. I recently purchased a 2003 Silverado and am curious as to what the small speaker like units are in the front windshield area and above the drivers head are. I realize this is probably common knowledge stuff but I can't seem to find anyone that knows what they are. Anyone else have the answer I am looking for? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The speakers by the windshield are just that. They are small tweeter speakers for the Bose stereo system. The one in the headliner above your head is the aspirator for the auto climate control.

There is a speaker like looking device above the driver's head in our pickup and suburban that are sensors for the automatic climate control for the heat/ac unit. You would look up and to the left to see it in both of our rigs (2002 and 2004). It has a hard plastic cover and sometimes you can hear a small "whirring" sound when it starts.

Our Suburban has the Bose system and the front speakers for it (tweeters) are on the front pillar posts just above the dash and are found on both sides.

Not sure if this helps, but it sounded like the sensor when I read your description.
