i have a 1997 5.7 gmc and i want to make it lighter but dont know what to do i dont want nothing extream like little stuff that can take off 20 or 30 pounds

From my drag racing days dont look for one big place look for 1000 places to take any ounce. We had a 70 Camaro that the guy who built it had drilled holes in the door hinges, the brake pedal, the A-frames, the cross member, and then acid dipped the body. So anything is possible just plan ahead as to where you want to take it from, more from the front less from rear, to help weight transfer.

Few random ideas I had was spare tire and tail gate. Just for the strip that is.

 

If your going all out, alls you need inside is 1 seat and a tachometer

 

With it probobly being an automatic and having a bench seat that wouldnt work out too well, but you get the idea
