Dude, I cant help, but try to do a before and after dyno, and gas mileage too. Im very very interested in the results. Especially gas mileage. I think it should be decent still.

Be sure to get a dyno tune after the install for maximum benefit.

I think the z06 cam would work really well in a 5.3 because the engine was designed to rev hard to begin with.

Would you retain stock heads or go for Z06 heads? I'm not really sure what the difference is between the two, but I imagine the Z06 jobs would be hogged out and could handle the lift. I did notice you said you have springs and lifters, but will the stock valvecovers handle the lift?

Speaking of which, anyone have specs on a Z06 cam vs. stock 5.3L. Curious how drastic of a change it is going to be.

im gonna use the stock heads, i will post before and after dyno sheets, and imma have it reprogramed after i put it in, cuz ill be doin a new stall converter and diff gears at the same time

so you can just use a Z06 cam in the 5.3L? and it can raise your re limit a lot?...I am guessing there is no Z06 cam for the 4.3L

Yep. Im not sure how much a stock Z06 cam would raise the powerband, I was looking around and saw some vette cams that are recomended up to 6500 rpms. You'll loose some low end sure, but make it up at the top end. They wouldnt fit in a V6.
