I don't know what's up with this auction, but why would anyone run up ebay fees for this? He has three others like it. I don't understand.

People do that all the time. Search for air guitars and see what comes up, lol. I've seen ass kickings on Ebay, the winner gets beat up. My favorite though are the well endowed braless women that are holding up a car part or something in the pictures.

My guess is that he's building up feedback. He's probably bidding on the auction with another account, and then in a few months, those auctions won't be visible, but he'll still have the feedback from them.

 

He's either an honest seller that is just starting out and trying to build up his feedback, or (more likely) he's getting ready to run a scam on some people.

 

Either way, it's against ebay's TOS, and if he gets caught, they'll likely suspend his account. Not that it will fix anything, he'll just open a new account and start again.

While this auction doesn't seem like one, some people will do a practice auction if they have never sold anything before, better to spend a couple bucks in order to understand how the system works then post an item wrong and get screwed over. IMO.
