06 Vortec Max vibration

FSTDL

Question

Posted

I have posted this concern before but really got no info but just want to throw it out there again.

I have an 06 Vortec Max witch I dont think it matters that it is a Max version. But between 45-60mph I have a dronning noise that I can actually feel through the vehicle. It sorta feels like it is going from one end of the truck to the other like a bad diff sesation but that has been gone through with out any improvment.Whats strange is that it does not always do it but seems to be more frequent as I get more miles on her(am at 19,000).I have since noticed that when its doing it and I hit the auto 4wd it seems to go away.

It is leading me to beleive its within the transfer case.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

I must also say this thing has a brake pulsation that keeps returning after cutting and replacing drums and rotors and the nastiest beam shake that you could imagine and I am comming from an HD2500 and an HD1500 before that. But I can live with that and am hoping there will be new cab mounts comming some day.

But I just love this truck. This 6.0 is the sweetest motor I have ever driven in a pick up.

Thanks for any input and sorry for the long post

I have an 06 max myself. I think Ive noticed the same thing, the drone noise is what caught my attention first over the slight vibration. I just made a post about another problem Im having with the truck and it will be going in the shop so I am going to ask about this noise/slight vibration also. The vibration wasnt horrible, but the droning noise seemed more annoying than the vibration on mine anyways.
