Tail Light

Ok...so I got back from taking a load to the dump today and no more left tail light. I've got an '05 so it looks like the same bulb for the tail light as the brake light. Right side works fine (brake light, tail light and turn signal). I mentioned the dump because the road sucks and I thought something might have gotten loose. Fuses checked and ok...what's my next move?

Did you take the taillight out of the truck yet? I would take it out and examine the bulb itself, then maybe stick the one from the right side that works and put it into the left side. This would elleviate the bulb. You could also look inside the plug or just make sure that the plug is connected. From there, you would almost have to start tracing wires I would think...hope this helps

havn't pulled the bulb yet. I figured if the brake light worked the bulb is ok (it's the same bulb). I'll give it a more carefull look tomorrow, and see if that makes any difference. thanks for the help,

I am almost thinking that the bulb has two filiments...I could be wrong, but that could also be your problem...Just throwing ideas out there for ya! Good luck with gettin it fixed!

Repace the bulb. It has two filaments, a higher wattage one for the brakes/signal and a lower wattage one for the parking lights. So one of the filaments is burnt out.
