Recomendatons when purchasing Body-lift kits

Greetings friends!!!

 

I recently was able to finally (after 8 years of waiting, hehe) purchase my first black truck.

 

It is an 07 Silverado Classic, and as all of us who are particular about what we drive, I want it to stand out... yet I must adhere to a budget .

 

I read on the forums about a 3" lift, and it seems that is the preferred one as most of the trucks that have been lifted state that amount.

 

I would like to know if 3" is a "rule of thumb" or if 2" or even 1.5" lift is possible. Also, what brand or what method would you guys recommend that is not overly priced, for me to lift my vechicle?

i guess a question we should start with is do you want a body lift or a suspension lift?

If you are looking for a suspension kit, you might want to try this one from e-bay... item # 280012962473 by seller ID Sandy River Enterprises

 

They have a great price on the kits for 4wd, although this is the first I ever looked for anything 2wd.

I had a 3" body lift on my 2000 K1500. It was made by Performance Accessories and it was a VERY complete kit. There are alot of things to move when you lift the body up and these guys supply EVERYTHING necessary to do the job.DONOT buy a kit that just gives you a few blocks and longer mount bolts. You will need 3" adjustment brackets for all this , too..... steering arm, radiator fan shroud, electrical ground straps, e-brake cable, front and rear bumpers, and a very important thing is the air bag sensor. My Performance Acc. lift kit was a little more than most, but they thought of everything and went on as easy as could be expected. I highly recommend them for a body lift.
