well i was going to post about this a while back but forgot. So anyway i just wanted to see if anybody else was as annoyed about how bright the light in the dash that indicates your bright lights being on is. i cant even hardly stand to drive with my bright lights on that stupid light is so bright and right in your face. it would be okay if it would dim when you dim the dash lights, but NO cant do that.

anyway....

P.S. this is on a 2003 2500HD

if it wasnt my work truck i would probably tear into the dash and see if i couldnt remove the bulb somehow or something...anybody got any ideas?

yeah ive resorted to sticking things over it before. you know, like when its real late at night and your driving home, and you a little tired. its just hard on the ol' eyeballs!

but anyway....

does it help to turn down your dash lights? technically, you see better at night if the lighting inside the veh is as dim as you can stand it.

Nope, it doesn't dim with the other dash lights.

And I agree that it's extremely annoying. It's bright enough to throw off my night vision, especially on extremely dark nights when the moon isn't out.

I'm sure it is that bright for a reason like to remind you that your brights are on for safety reasons. You guys are probably the same guys that dont turn them off when another car is coming..LOL  But I could see how it could be pretty annoying.

why do you have to go making accusations like that? as a matter of fact im not one of those guys. i know thats why the light is bright i was just stating that its annoying.

    • I understand that. The price is what it is, though. The price is what oil costs today, where our choices have led us, where supply is, and where demand is, in the market that is. Speculation is for futures, what we think the price will be, but with incomplete information at the time the price is forecast. I know you know this, but you appear to be intent on making a secondary point here about what you think the market could or should be, if only other choices.   In 1975 it became illegal to export US Crude. I'm conflicted on what the best answer is. Free markets allow export in pursuit of profit. But there is also a lot to gain by producing and consuming our own oil here. How do you reconcile it?
    • That sir is a choice. And even if it were not for all the reasons stated, this disruption has zero to do with the reality of the actual logistics and everything to do with the greed of SPECULATION. Spot price is irrelevant to reality.
    • What I think you're saying is there is supply here at home, and in Venezuela, and we could ease pricing if only it were favorable to do so.   Well, yes?   But that's not the current market. Supply isn't what could someday exist, if only, it's what producers are willing to produce and sell at a certain price point.   The national price of single family homes would come way down if we'd just slap together a few million homes this summer.   RAM and GPUs would get a lot cheaper if we just set up some factories to produce a bunch more and stopped using it to build out AI data centers.
    • The turn signal/multifunction switch is faulty.  I've seen a few of these go bad at work.
    • I am experiecing the same issue, I have gone in the setting and disabled rain sensing function but I am still experiencing this. Whe i use my turn signal they will redomly turn on. Sometime they stay on and others times we swipe 2 or 3 times and stop. Its super anoying, escpecially after a fresh wash.
