Does anyone in here have the LDP-600? I got one for xmas. I can't get darn thing to turn on!! Whats the deal?

Right now I have it plugged into my computer via the supplied USB cable. The screen says "PC Connect". If I were to "safely remove" the device from the computer while leaving it plugged in, the player would turn on the way I think it should normally run. For example I can "safely remove the device" and then I can listen to music through the head phones, but it would still be hooked up via USB..... I don't understand, its as if they didnt install the battery in the factory.

What have you tried so far? Like battery changing, different batteries, Hold button switched to off?

Its supposed to be an internal battery (rechargeable Lithium-ion battery). Do you have one like this?

No, but I have researched into a lot of MP3 Players.

Is the Hold switch on? Have you connected the unit with your computer? Because it does say that you have to recharge it by USB connection to a computer.

If none of this works, it is, I am sorry to say, probably defective.

Nope, the hold switch is off. It is connected right now, and it says (PC Connect). I let the unit charge overnight. I am thinking it is just faulty. That will be a pain as it was ordered over the internet.

A lot of new devices these days have a small paper tab in between one of the contacts of the battery.

I kinda wondered about that, but this devices battery is permanent and it doesn't have any access to the battery unless you completly take it apart.
