Mis fire on #8

Does not do it all the time but it happens more when raining and under 35 mph.. It is on my Dads truck which is a 97 GMC Serria with a 5.7.

 

New Dis cap and plugs.. Wires will go on soon just wanted to see if there might be anything else to check out...

Dist. cap and rotor fix most (when rain is a factor). Wires would be my next move.

Everything is new.. (within a couple of months) I just put the plugs on today...

An injector flush would be my next step.

I had a distributer cap fail in a month. The crab style cap is pretty crappy. Some are good and some fail, don't know why. Guess it's the design. If you suspect the wire try switching it with another cylinder and see if the same cylinder misses or it changes to the cylinder that you switched it to.
