I have 82,000 miles on my truck and haven't changed my plugs and wires yet. I know it wouldn't hurt but should i do it now and will i be able to tell a difference in mpg and performance?

If you are going to check plugs, it's just the same trouble as replacing them.

Removing wire boot from plug, removing plug, cleaning plug, checking gap, apply anti-seize, install plug, apply dielectric grease to wire boot, install wire boot on plug.

Might as well just skip the cleaning and gapping by installing new plugs.

Wire boots could be stuck on as with age the dielectric grease dries out. So best advice is if you're going to touch them, have a new wire set available.

If you are going to replace the wires try getting a set with a lifetime warranty. I got Delcos from advance auto and have a limited lifetime warranty(whatever that means). Everytime I change the plugs Ichange the wires, just tell them they were causing a misfire and they will give you a new set. Yes it taking advantage of the system, but for 92 bucks, i want more than 8 wires, that cost like 5 bucks to make.
