Want Black Bow Tie for Grille

Recommended Posts

I have an '06 Z71 that I would like to replace the stock "gold" bow tie on my grille with a "black" bow tie. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Everyone one I know with a colormatched bowtie, including myself, has done it themselves. All you need is some sandpaper (400 grit), adhesion promoter, primer, paint, and clear coat. It takes about 2 hours start to finish. Then let it sit overnight and re-install.

Or just go to a graphics shop and ask for some black vinyl scraps and cut to fit the bowtie.

I used some to cover my license plate brackets on my front bumper - it has be on there with no peeling for almost a year.

I converted the gold emblem to the chevy red bowtie. Using red & black paint and some "fine-line" tape.

Sprayed the entire emblem black and let dry.

Used fine-line and bordered the bowtie and sparayed with red.

Looks just like the red bowtie used on the old 454SS pick up.
