2004 Yukon remote not working

New guy here...

I just bought a 2004 Yukon XL after 4 years of Land Rover ownership. So far the Yukon XL is awesome.

I do have one issue and I am not sure if it is a bad remote or a remote that needs to be reprogrammed.

One of the remotes will not unlock the doors. It will lock and the panic button works, but it will not unlock. The other remote works just fine.

Any ideas?

I have searched and found a procedure that the GM Tech posted on how to reprogram the 2004 Silverado remotes. I assume the Yukon is the same. Is that a correct assumption?

PROCEDURE

You can do the programming yourself, you don't need to go to the dealer. Here's the procedure. Remember that the first key fob programmed becomes #1, etc. And be sure you reprogram all remotes.

-------------

Ground pin 4 to pin 8 of the data link connector (DLC). The receiver will respond by locking and unlocking the doors, and activating the liftgate window release (if equipped) within 2 seconds.

Press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously on the first transmitter to be programmed until the locks cycle (approximately 10 seconds).

Repeat step 2 for up to four total transmitters to be programmed (if available).

The receiver will respond by locking and unlocking the doors and activating the liftgate window release (if equipped) within 2 seconds.

Remove the ground applied to the DLC.

Lock and unlock the doors in order to verify the transmitter operation.

Activate the rear window release in order to verify the transmitter operation.

Should I go ahead and reprogram them or is there a resync procedure for the 2004 GMC models?
