Passenger side Door Rattle

This has been bothering me for a month now. I have a rattle when I go over some bumps in the passenger side doors. I have taken off the panel and everything seems nice and tight. It seems to be coming from the upper part of door. I noticed that the bolt to the tweeter is broken off. Any suggestion would be appreciated. I know your working blind, but I appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks!

well, i have two rattles in my driver side door of my 99 tahoe...

one of the rattles (squeak) is due to the door panel. As a quick fix, i wedged a piece of paper on where i thought the rattle was coming from and it went away. I plan on Redoing the fasteners on the door panel or running some gasket maker along the sides...

The second rattle (clunk) is coming from the driver side door. Since i noticed that it is sagging a little bit, i am assuming that it is the door pins/ bushings. I went on ebay and ordered the kit for $10 shipped. I have yet to put them on, but i am assuming that it will fix it.

Either way, your solution depends on wether the rattle is a squeal or a clunk. If it in fact is a rattle, them it is possible that one of your connectors is not fastened to the door or that piece that broke off is rattling around at the bottom of the door. If you suspect it is the door panel, try wedging some paper into a loose area. then you can go from there.

my 07 sierra classic has had a rattle over on the passenger doors for the last week also. I haven't had time to investigate it yet though.

:P Squeaks include rear door window -- I had GM replace all the black rubber insulation with runs into the frame -- No help.

2ndly the passenger front door makes noises over bumps.

I'm taking it to GM for it's oil chang and quarterly complaint session to keep them busy... :) .

I have the same problem in my 2001 Silverado Ext cab. If I have a passenger and I tell them to fix it, they usually just put pressure on the bottom of the door near the tray and it goes away. However as soon as they remove their hand, the rattle comes back.

I have no clue what the problem is.

When you say near the tray, do you mean by the courtesy light?

It seems to be coming from the front near the speakers and mirror cover area.

Check the strike bolt, where the door latches to the frame. There is usually a plastic roller there that may become loose, or may need replacing. Not sure the cost. Or the jaws of the door lock, where it hits the frame may be out of alingment, again not sure what the cost of replacing it would be.

The tweeters are notorious for breaking loose from the door panel and rattling. Look behind the speaker grille on of them might be hanging. by the wires.
