well this just sucks!

2 days ago we got 20 inches of snow. Then it rained making a lot of trees loose branches with all the extremely wet and heavy snow falling off.

Sooo anyway we run to town in the truck today and halfway there the last of the snow finally melted/slid off the truck and I see 2 dents in the center of my hood!!! Only thing I can figure is a branch or big ice chunks hit the hood, slid off onto the ground, and I didn't notice them when I plowed the snow away.

I stopped by a body repair shop and they said the best way to go would be to replace the hood. Guess I'll call my ins. agent and see what my options are. At least he's a family friend so I won't get the run around.

There's no paint damage and if it was anywhere else on the truck I might just let them go, but all I did driving home this evening was stare at those darn dents right in front of me.

problem solved.

I guess it would be cheaper to replace the hood.

How big are the dents? Have you called dent wizard? You would be amazed at what those guys can do...

I have seen the things that the "paintless dent removal" guys can do and its pretty good. You might want to go see what they may charge. If you do not know of any, try some of the local dealerships and they usually have a person they they deal with that could help you out. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your incident. How about some of those fake hood scoops? They can be painted to match.

They aren't that noticable. At a glance you don't even see them. I guess they really aren't "dents" per say more like creases across the flat part of the hood on the drivers side. Like I said if it was anywhere else on the truck I'd probably not even bother, but it's right in front of my eyes.

I'm going to go to another shop and see what they say. Swing by the dealership too I suppose.

I wish I could. The trouble with living in a state owned house on Forest Service land. Can't touch any trees without Forest Service approval, which never happens.

Nice BMW I sure would love to drive that car. I bought my first BMW last August to use for a daily commuter ( 80 to 90 miles a day) I found a 1998 318 i four door 5 speed. I love it. It gets 31 + mpg every tank. I freeway drive most of th way and am amazed how easily 90 mph sneeks up on me.
