resting the ECM

That's one way, but I have not looked through my underhood fuse box to determine if we have the appropriate fuses to do this.

You can always disconnect the negative side of the battery and pretty much accomplish the same.  It's technically called "Idle re-learn procedure."

1) Turn ignition to ACC position.

2) Under the hood, pull the PCM BAT first then the PCM IGN fuses.

3) Let vehicle sit for about a minute with the ignition still on in the ACC position.

4) After a minute, turn ignition off and replace fuses PCM IGN first then PCM BAT.

Start vehicle, I suggest driving with the A/C on a little, doing a few WOT romps, etc.

There is a extensively detailed procedure at www.obdII.com I just summarized it and is generally what I do.
