Anti drain back valve....

I'm having trouble with my 94 Silvy TBI.

When it's cold out...it cranks and cranks before finally turning over and no gas thru the injectors until it starts.

Someone mentioned drain back valve but, not sure where it is and how to determine if this is my problem or is the pump going?

My buddy seems to think it's not the pump because it's been doing this for about 2 weeks or better and starts fine when warmed up.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

TEE

If I recall the drain back valve is PART of the pump. You could probably put another one in somewhere between the pump and the injectors if you're feeling daring. I know how you feel though, my '95 is showing signs of the same problem. I'll probably be replacing the pump come spring time...I just hope that IF it dies first that I'm low on gas...I don't really look forward to syphoning 38 gallons of gas out of the tank.

I hear ya' my brutha' :lurk:

I just hope it don't puke before I get a chance to rplace the pump and the lines.

The fuel lines on my 94 look downright scary

Here's an addition...

I just called my mechanic and found out he's only gonna' charge me $125 to drop the tank

I also found out I can get an AC Delco pump for $65...not too shabby I thought.

One small problem might be the lines and getting them replaced...he said he'd soak them for awhile before removal.

Sound good?

Was it an AC Delco or Bosch?

I've heard that you should only use the GM's....I'll do a lil' checkin.

Thanx again

It was just whatever Autozone had, it wasn't a Bosch either...I think it was a Wells or something...You don't have to replace the whole sending unit on a '94 as far as I know, just the pump at the bottom...Unlike the post-96 trucks.
