Hey everybody.....I have a sub coming today and I just wanted to know how to install it and the amp........ok let me see if i have this right. Ok, I have a mono amp that puts out 800w@2ohm and 450w@4ohm. My sub is a 10" Kicker that is DVC but wired for a single 2ohm load.

----In order to attach the amp to my factory radio i get the line out converter and plug the RCA cables in......run the RCA cables into the input of the amp. Then run some power wire from the batter to the +12 terminal...and then, from what I understand, get any power source and plug it into the "Rem" terminal. Then get ground wire and wrap it around a bolt. Then I guess I just run some wires into the side of the sub and turn it on.

Question I have here is what kind of wire should I use for all of this? What guage for the +12, REM, and ground? And where should I plug the REM into or do i even need to at all? Are their special cables I need to get for the sub to the amp? Thank you soooo much for looking!! :D

My suggestion would be to buy an amp wiring kit rated for your amps output. This should come with all the wires required to do the install. For the remote wire I suggest connecting to one of the fuses on the side of the dash. And yes, this is required to turn the amp on and off. Hope this helps.

yea amp kits are good, for when you doont reeeeallly kno wat ur doin. But i always suggest 4 gauge wire to get the most out of ur system, without having your system be crazy nuts....and you just need basic speaker wire for the subs...the thicker the better tho...good luck
