Scratch and dent

Heres a pic and dent 2 wks after i got my truck.  $850 in damage.  Only thing you couldnt really see was the dent and the damage to the fender flare

 

The pic really doesnt look bad and it was alot worse seeing it up close

mine wasnt in pain i was.  2 wks old

 

I didnt have my truck for almost a wk.  

 

Also it ruined that saturday for me when it happened i was down in indy for a wedding.  I just sat at the table pissed off

I've got you beat, 8grand in damage, truck in the shop for a month.  Went in before thanksgiving and got it back before christmas.  Because of the crummy job the dealer did I still find problems w/ my truck.  Because of the holidays it took me 5 days to get a rental which meant I couldn't get to class or to work.  And, they gave me a cavalier in which my legs were crammed against the dashboard because I'm about 6'4" - 6'5" and it's all in my legs.  That was a sucky month.  It happend exactly 4 months after I got the truck.  I know the feeling though about just sitting there PO'ed about it.

 

 

I just laid out some pics and took a shot w/ the digital camera since I didn't feel like hooking up my scanner.

 

But, this is what happens when someone in a chevy blazer pulls out of a parking lot when he can't see right in front of me.  His blazer was totalled and had I not been hugging the left side of the lane her probably would've been dead if not in the hospital.

I figured I'd have you beat w/ that one.  It was a day or two before thanksgiving and I was driving to one of my buddies houses, two lanes of traffic on each side and a left turn lane in the middle.  Well, I was driving down the left lane about 25 mph and the traffic in the right lane were all turning into the shopping center.  A guy in a 96 blazer pulled out of the lot to make a left turn despite the fact that there was a line of cars in his way.  The one that was blocking his view was an astro van so there was no way he could see.  He just bolted into my lane and stopped.  I was about 10 feet away so there was no way I could even hit the brakes.  Well I slammed into him at 25 and hit the drivers side of the blazer and turned it about 45 degrees and dragged it down my truck until my truck finally stopped.  His blazer was totalled to say the least.  I hit the drivers side and when he went to open the passenger door it wouldn't budge and then made a lot of noise.  Well, he ended up getting a failure to yeild ticket and a few points on his license.  The cop that came to the scene was a big jerk.  When I got the police report it had my statement on it when he didn't even take a statement from me.  He had asked me 4 questions: "Is your truck 4x4," "Is it driveable," "what insurance company do you have," and "do you need a tow truck."  How he got a one paragraph statement out of me from 4 yes or no questions I don't know.  But, that's where having the chief of police as your neighbor come in handy.  I just reported him on it and he was reprimanded for it.  But, it's a little over a year later and I'm still waiting for some type of settlement w/ the other guys insurance company.  So far it's been a big hassle and I'm fed up w/ it.  I ended up getting a lawyer to take care of it since  I didn't want to deal w/ the insurance company anymore.  The part that I really hated was because I was only 18 all they would give me for a rental was a compact car when if I should have gotten something that was comparable to my truck.  It was bogus.  I took the rental guy out there and said, do you see where my legs are in here?  He said there was nothing they could do.  I asked him if I could rip the seats out and re-mount it 6" back.  The guy just laughed.

year later and u have not been repayed yet? u need to get a layer and make them pay for him, and interest

They paid for the repair bill, but there is still the matter of a rental car bill for a month, missed a few days of work, and had to get checked out at the hospital.  Plus all of the other junk that goes along w/ it.  Hopefully my lawyer will get me something out of them.  At first they said that they could pin a percentage of the accident on me because I wasn't able to hit my brakes when I saw his car.  Which really got me pissed off so what I did was took my speed, distance away he was when he pulled out and figured that i would have had a whopping .64 seconds to react.  I faxed the insurance company my math and added a not that even if I was twice the distance away that I said I was the average person can not react in under a second.  I would have like to have added that if this needs to be demonstrated further I'll take a swing at you when you're not expecting it and see if you have time to react, but I decided against that.  what can I say I was angry.

opps sorry general i totally forgot to answer that

 

to this day i still do not know or have any clue.  The bodyshop guy didnt have any idea either.  My guess was a bum pushing a shopping cart (bad part of downtown indy) pushed it into the side of my truck said it didnt look like it was done on purpose not enough damage
