Can You Identify This Piece/Problem?

Its off of an 8.1L GM engine. I pulled off of the throttle body, to try and fix an idle surge. It had a schraeder valve under the green cap inside it(Almost like a fuel pressure relief valve).

 

 

 

 

BTW, after cleaning out the throttle body, it did seem to help some, however, it is still doing it some. Initially I thought of the IAC valve, but I could not see it anywhere. This is my first GM, always worked on fords.

I cant identify the problem but that green cap covers the EVAP system test port. It is used to vauum test or smoke test the evap system to find a leak.

that is the evap system purge solonoid. and as stated above the green cap covers the service port for the evap system.

can't help ya with the surge.

When I replaced plugs, and plug wires, the surge went away:)

the green cap part has already been answered. I know these things like to eat crank sensors too.
