99 k1500 locked 4l60e conveter

Just recently installed a rebuilt 4l60E and new torque converter into a 1999 chevy k1500 5.7 4x4 truck.The problem is this.Shifting from park to any gear the engine will stall.Disconnecting the electrical connector from the solenoid on the passenger side enables you to shift out of park into another gear without a stall.Talking with the rebuilder we think the problem may be from the plug and in the wiring back towards the computer and not in the transmission itself.

Anyone have any knowledge of this or ever experience this and know where to start looking?
