Cig. Lighter / Power port

Hi All

 

On my '06 Sierra 1500 SLE, captains chairs and console, I'm trying to figure out how to get the cigarette lighter/power port out to replace the cap. I'm struggling with how to get to the back of it but can't figure out if or how to get the console apart.. Anybody had the console apart??

Take a look at the console on the website of www.jpcustoms.com (sorry don't know how to link to it) their 03-06 Center Console Upgrade...........if yours is the same type console, the black portion that contains the cig/power port pulls forward..........it has two major clips holding each side and some small guides around the edge. I just installed one in my regular cab yesterday and had it apart to do the wiring. Hope this helps.

That worked. Gave it a good yank, kinda scary.. I removed the center part to access the power ports. Can't get the tabs to release the cigar lighter to replace it with the powerport cover. I'll try again later..
