I am going to be putting an amp and sub that I have from another vehicle and putting it into my 1999 2500. When i had a 1997 tahoe I had a shop do this and they used some kind of adapter for hooking the amp to the stock stereo and I am going to do the install myself this time and need to know what adapter I will need and if I can order it online or not. Thanks for the help!

JPCustoms.com has what you guys need.

For an '06 with Bose, it's something like the PAC A-OEM GM-24...Don't quote me on that though...My memory is spotty.

You could acutly get a OEM box that will hook up to your stock radio and will send the singal to your subs or highs . I think i have a site that you can look at for that. but i know Rockford , kicker , four.1 have them you can take a look at them ( that if you want to tune them right and have nice clean sound)http://www.mobileaudiocontrol.com/dept.asp?d_id=17612&l1=17612

Without getting the box, is there not just a cheap adapter that I could use?

best buy has one for $20+, but i hate those guys. tap the wires for the rear speakers and plug the RCA cables into the converter.

Randon said it.

i call it hi-low converter but it has couple of names.

its a small box that u can plug ur rca's into and on the other side, its 4 wires, which you tap into your rear speakers. goodluck

Thanks! I ordered the 3rd one. It was the cheapest and has adjustability in it. We will see how it works.

I bought one locally yesterday for about $18...Along with some door speakers from Memphis Audio. Never listened to them, but they were the right price at the right time. :D

I should be doing my install this weekend (along with figuring out how to put my long overhead console in a regular cab) if it would ever warm up again.

I don't understand the point in upgrading stock speakers but keeping the horrible sounding factory head unit. Just spend $150 and get a decent head unit and have much better sound quality.
