I just got the word today, I get to drop off my truck tomorrow for it's new 383 Stroker and custom dual exhaust with Thorley headers. I am pumped, the computer goes to Wait4meperformance for the custom tune and in 2 weeks, I get my ground pounding, asphalt ripping, Ford a$$ kicking machine back. :D:driving::driving:

Sounds awesome, congrats.

I am curious as to what form of a fuel system you are going to run, I have heard that the parts from a Vortec 350 (intake, throttle body ect.) can be put onto a 383. I was just wondering if that is what you are planning on or if you are going to run some custom set-up.

I purchased a 4 bolt main 5.7l block and had my motor guy work it over. I have a 5.0l in the truck stock and needed a little more punch, as for cost, I am not sure yet. When all is said and done, I will make a list of parts and cost from the fuel injection all the way to the headers and exhaust system.

As for the injection, I did some research and found a upgrade for the stock system that is a quick and painless install. It removes the poppet valves from the manifold and replaces them with actual injectors. The system is a stock GM part number and is a nice conversion. I will let you know, other than that, all of the stuff from my 5.0l is being moved to the 6.27l (yes I am a geek and figured that out).

I can tell you I have given my motor guy $3k to date and a set of 350 vortec heads. but he will be installing the engine as well. the headers were just over $600 from summit, fan $400 from summit, complete new exhaust system with dual high flow cats, dual single in/single out 50 series flowmasters, and cross over $600, towing from motor shop to exhaust shop and back $200.

Anyway, I don't want to think about all the money stuff until the project is done and I can sit in the seat and say "It's only money and it was all worth it!!!!!!!!"
