Some tranny questions

Im not sure what transmission I have. Its a 00 z71 5.3. where do I find that out?

 

I'm also about to do a flush then filter change. Is there any filters that are better then others?

 

Ithere any adjustments that need to be done with the pan off. On my dodge there is bans to adjust.

 

Lastly any improvements that you can do while the pan is off?

You have a 4L60E transmission. RPO code(sticker in glove box) M30. If there is no drivability problems, just change the filter and fluid. Any major manufacturer filter will be fine.

Trans-go has a shift kit that can be added to the valve body, other than that, change filter and fluid and your done.

You can change the 1-2 shift servo which will give ya a better more firm shift .

Jason, I cannot answer your servo question but I can tell you that most all trans filters are the mfgd by the same company. Notice, I said most. You need to look for one supplied by SPX Filtran, they are the premium supplier in the market. They supply us (CARQUEST) and many other suppliers. If I am not mistaken, it will have SPX or Filtran stamped into the filter somehwere.
