starting problem

so saturday i went to start my 2003 2500HD (has 4x4, 6.0, AT) and when i turned the key nothing happend. i had charge on the batter, had lights just would start. Didnt click or nothing. finally about 10-15 minutes later it started.

then last night i started the truck and my ABS light came on the Brake warning light came on and had a message that said service brakes. I shut the truck off to see if it would reset and when i went to restart it....nothing happend...AGAIN!

I went to to the GM Dealership this morning and the service guy told me he couldnt squeeze it in today but the first thing they would check is the battery and altenator. told me to go to the auto parts place and have them check it for free. so i left there and did just that. The battery checked out good and so did the altenator.

Now im back at square one. I went to another dealership and they told me that unless they could get it to replicate than they would have trouble diagnosing the problem also. He recommended that maybe the starter was locking up and to tap it lightly with a hammer the next time it wouldnt start, and to see if that made it start. Maybe a bad starter?

But if the starter is bad why would that through ABS warning lights and such...im completly stumped here.

now on my way home from the last dealership im getting a loud pop or tick noise coming form somewhere...seems to happen when im slowing down and using the brakes. not sure if its coming from the brakes though. it just started today.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..............somebody please help me

it may have something to do with the battery life saving thing. It kicks out the battery if you accidentally leave something on.

We had the same problem on our 02 2500hd. Battery would be dead. We give it a jump and it works fine, eventually replaced the battery though.

Open up your positive battery terminal and see if it is corroded. I had the same problem with mine, and thats all it turned out to be.
