I'm a GM owner again

I sold the BMW. A bit sad to see it go considering all the time and investment in it, but its going to a good home, a BMW club member, who plans on fixing her up again, something I was too bummed out to do(it took a bit more damage in the last ice storm, that killed me and was the last straw). Well, I decided that to get me through the next few years and the beginning of a marriage, I needed to tone down the street racer desires and look for something cheaper to own and more practical. Naturally I started a search for a late 90's Grand Prix GT.(if I got a GTP that would defeat the purpose, with my car habits I'd have most the SLP catalog on it a few months after the Camaro is paid off this fall). But they were a bit more than I wanted to pay. I gave up and just did a general car search on auto trader and then remembered and saw the Olds Intrigue. Not that exciting of a car, but its basically a 4 door Grand Prix that's a bit more matured. I found a 99, with 106K, and was pleasantly surprised to pop the hood and find the "Shortstar"215HP 3.5L. As most of you know right before GM killed Olds and had iit step up to bridge Buick and Caddy, the chopped a few cylinder's off the Northstar to use the engine in a lower cost(non V8) aurora. The Engine was an option on the GX and GL, standard on GLS. I was surprised because this car is a GL and the only option are power seats, leather, moonroof, and the 3.5L, and seems like most the 3.5L's went to just GLS's.

Its not perfect, has a about 5 or 6 door dings and a dent around the rear door handle, some surface scratches I think I can buff out, needs a passenger side mirror and motor, but I got it below NADA trade in so I'm happy.

yeah for the most part. One of the reason I bought it was for a financial "safety net"(I can't lose money on it), something happens and I sell it its just like I was putting that money in a bank account the whole time. If it was a new car, it'd be gone.

Except you don't earn money, like you would in a bank.

New to Muscle Cars? Including gas, insurance payments, maintenance, etc, the TMV of this car, if I sold it today, would still gain me a bit of money. The longer I wait, the more the value will go up. If I put it in a classics auction I'd clean up.

If I found someone willing to pay the NADA value of around 40K, I'd REALLY clean up, lol.

that'd me cool, There are several Tulsa members, maybe we should try a Tulsa GM-TC meet? I do, actually have my old truck in my driveway again. after my dad bought it, my older bro's Jimmy pooped out, so he bought it from my dad, and my bro got a jeep so he sold it back to my dad, who needed somewhere to put it.
