Where's the oil drain plug on my 4.3L V6?

Can somebody help me find the oil drain plug on my 4.3L V6. Truck is a 2006 Silverado for reference.

 

Here's a picture I took of the oil filter. The bolt to the left of the filter is apparently the automatic transmission fluid drain. I suspect that the bolt above the filter is the oil drain plug, but if that's the case then how do I keep the oil off the exhaust components right next to the plug?

The oil pan is the aluminum ribbed piece to the lower part of the picture and at the bottom is a plug. The black part is the engine block.
