What kind of gas mileage does a 1988-1995 Chevrolet 1500 V6 2x4 extend

I am thinking about buying one of these trucks but I was hoping someone here has one and can tell me what kind of gas mileage they get.

 

Im looking for a truck with this:

1988-1995

Chevrolet or GMC

1500 light duty

any package

2 wheel drive

extended cab

shortbed

auto or manual

I have an '88 5.7 5 speed w/OD 4x4 regular cab - the last time I checked (about 2 months ago) on the open road I was at 23.6 MPG. In the city it drops to about 19 MPG or a little less. Hope this helps.

I own a 1994 4.3 2WD single cab and I get right at about 21.5 on the HWY and 17 in the city. My truck has 210,000 on the clock, and I have the 4L60-E.

I don't have exactly what you're looking for but somewhat close. '95 K1500 4x4 with 4.3 V6, 5-spd manual, long bed, std cab, with ~140k. I get about 18 or 19 mpg in rural and town driving and 22 mpg on the open road. Using A/C drops each down by about 1. Unlike my little toyota PU, very little seems to affect the mileage (other than speed). I can tow my boat and haul a heavy load and the mileage is pretty much the same. Using the 4WD drops it, though.

I can tell you reg cab longbox v6 2wds get 300-330 miles to the tank 30 gal , in mixed driving. If thats any help

Mine gets about 20 on the highway and 15 in town. It's a 1991 1500 Sierra 2x4 extended cab. 5.7litre. I hope this helps.
