Looking for some information please

I have stumbled on a great deal on a set of wheels and tires. The wheels are stock chrome H2 wheels (2003; 8 lug). Seller states the wheels are 17x8.5. Tires are BFG AT's 317/75-17. I've got an 01 2500HD CC 4x4. How much lift will I need to sport this wheel/tire combo? Does the fact that these are pretty much stock wheels help me or will I still need a 6" lift?

Sorry for the redundant question, but this truck is the first IFS I have ever had and I am still trying to figure this out. Thanks in advance for any info you all can provide!!!

Sorry, I must have been typing to fast. They are 315's.

315's are equivalent to 35x12.5 i would say 6" would be perfect. More if you looking for something that wont rub off road. Im not possitive on these newer trucks but i had 6" on a 98 body style and 35" tires and they rubbed a lil on the front flares. but that was only at some good articulation.

I run the same tire/rim size on my 06 HD with a 6"pro comp lift and there is more than enough room to run those tires. We test fit 37's and they leave just enough room on full turn and susp. travel. I don't have a stock front end so that may be a hindernce on bigger tires.

BTW I ran 285's with a complete stocker with no trimming. My $0.02.

Thanks for the info guys. I have decided to just go with 285's instead of getting the Hummer wheels and tires. The cost of lifting the truck 6" negates any savings on the wheel/tire combo.
