Toning Down The Flowmaster

Yesterday was all I could stand, cause I couldn't stand no more.

My wife and I were in my truck yesterday, instead of just getting in, holding on and being Quiet

she started to complain about the resonating drone inside the cab at certain RPMs.

So I started to think about the brake guy at the local parts shop, wrapping the brake drum

with a large rubber band to reduce vibration and high pitch squeel while turning the drum.

So I went to the local home hardware and grabbed two 3/8 x 6inch springs and a roll of mechanics wire.

I looped both ends, wrapped the wire around the muffler pulling the spring out a bit and hooked to the other end. Did the same with the other spring and wire. It took all but five minutes.

Took the old girl, in the truck of course, for a test ride, and low and behold, they were both quiet, big time. If I knew that was all it took to keep them both quiet, I would of done this long ago .

I hope this works for others, Take care Ward

you can also use the stick on alumanized dynomat material. Only put it on the sides and top and not on the bottom

Or, if you haven't already bought a system, you could buy a Magnaflow catback. Mine sounds like a Vette on the outside, no drone.
