Interior Lights Not Working

2000 Silverado

Im having a problem with my interior lights not coming on if I try to turn the 2 overhead ones on a message pops up in the message center that says Cab Lights on, this message also comes up when the glove box is open or the door open and when I try to turn the dome light on overhead. none of the lights will turn on at all. they dont work whether the truck is on/off, but I noticed the message while it was running.

Did you check the dome light override switch by the headlamp switch?

I am having trouble with my 94 gmc sierra in that the interior lights do not come on when the door is open and the buzzer seems intermitent when the keys are left in the ignition. The interior lights do function when the switch is turned on so I know there is power. I think it might be the switch in the door jam but was wanting some advice before I start randomly replacing parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hope you find a fix! I am having a similar problem with my 97 Sonoma. The Interior lights come on with the doors, but not when I turn them on by the headlight control.

If it acts that way for both doors, then it can't be the door switch. One door only, then yes. I replaced the passenger door switch on my 1998 Chevy, and the part was less than $10 from the dealer, and easy to replace.

My 2003 GMC 2500HD has a similar light problem to those mentioned here. Interior lights work fine with the dimmer but they don't come on with either door being opened. I'm guessing one of the door switches but I find it funny that both stopped working at the same time. Fuses look ok. I think the wiring went thru both switches on my 1994 so when I replaced one switch, they both worked again....I wonder if this is the same.
