sammykitch Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 I have a 1998 Silverado. When I turn on my headlights the DRL indicator light stays on and I have no High beams. What could be the problem? I just bought the truck and would like high beams. I also tried turning on the headlight switch with the engine off and all the lights except the headlights came on. Could the switch be the problem.
mini1 Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 It sounds like someone did an HID upgrade then removed it before they sold the truck to you. Check with the last owner.
sammykitch Posted April 6, 2007 Author Posted April 6, 2007 No the truck is bone stock and has been that way I work with the guy, so that is not it. Anyone else?
citydriver Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Make sure the bulbs aren't burned out 1st. Then check the fuses...

kroc33 Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 You may be having a relay problem. Check under the hood in your fuse box. There are relays in there as well. You may have a bad relay for your headlights. good luck
dhansell22 Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 I had weird problems like that. The dealership replaced the BCM and that took care of it. I'm not sure how you could test that on your own though.
