Stripped Lower Shock Bolt/nut

I bought a set of Bilsteins and went to replace the originals on the truck. (First time ever touching the shocks.) Rears and front passenger side went on fine. Got to the driver's side and one of the bolts came off easier than others...hmmmm. Install the shock and go to tighten up the bolt and it doesn't snug down. Its not finger-loose, but won't torque down either. I now have this rattle when I hit little bumps or uneven pavement.

 

Has anyone else experience this? Do I drill/tap and get a bolt next size up or is there something else I need to do?

helicoil is probably your best bet....I am not too sure how much play you would have to put a bigger bolt in as it would be at least 1/4" bigger just because you would have to remove the threads than re-thread the new hole.

Don't those bolts just thread into a speed nut on the lower control arm?...if it does just replace the speed nut with a new one or use a nut, bolt and lockwasher.
