There used to be a list of all the RPO codes for GM trucks by year on this site's homepage. I don't know if it is still there, but if it is, then just look at the RPO codes in the glovebox of the truck you are looking at and then look at the RPO sheet.

I am familar with the RPO codes but he truck is in Ohio and I am in michigan, I was thinking of buying a car fax for the month, but I only need to run 1 report, is there anyone that could help me out?

I don't think there's anything in the VIN that would indicate the rear end gearing....But post the VIN and your email...I'll drop you the Carfax report anyway

I talked to the dealer and he sent me the RPO codes for the truck , looks good, 4.10 gears-Gt5, locking Diff-G80, M74 5 speed allison I am sure it will do the job of pulling my 9,000 lbs camper just fine!!!!!!!! Thanks to all here who have helped me and many others, Jesse
