blkshadow Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 quick ?, i have on 06 silverado and would like to change the white drl's to amber. so far i have not been able to find a part # for an amber drl to fit the 06. do you know of a suitable replacement bulb? thanx, jd
ryank1 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Usually it is the same bulb number just add "na" to the end. It is the same bulb that is in the front turnsignal as well.
Coachmenguy Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 i took my stock one to the store and matched it up, i found 2 amber ones that looked identical, so i just picked one and its fine, as long as it looks like your stock one, you'll be fine NOTE: you'll find that after a few months the amber coloring will actually begin to peel off the bulb, try to replace it before it gets too bad so you dont have yellow flakes in you housing, they look sweet though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
blkshadow Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 thanx guys. i took the # from the owners manual but could not find anything to match around here.
2500HD 8.1 Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 I use the amber drls instead of the dingy white stock ones. I bought Sylvania bulbs at the local parts store and the package says "3157NALL" and "4157NALL". The stock bulbs have the number "4114K" on it, but the 3157s are the exact bulb. The owner's manual also says 4114K. They look awesome in amber.
blkshadow Posted April 12, 2007 Author Posted April 12, 2007 are they really bright? i passed a pontiac grand prix that had amber drl's and they were really bright. you could see them much better then the white ones. i think they would look good , kinda like running your parking lights at dusk! later, jd
